things i'm grateful for: road trip! (toscana)

we arrived in the tuscan region late in the afternoon.

we stayed in the most perfect, most charming, most beautiful hotel in signa.

please if you ever have the chance to go to tuscany, we highly recommend
hotel borgo castelletti

the price is reasonable, unlike some overpriced hotels in other areas. alessandro, the manager, was a delight.he was brimming with italian charm and wit.

signa is about 20 minutes away from florence by train.it is in the suburbs so you would not really expect to see this lovely hotel amidst all the shopping centres and uh, ugly buildings nearby.

but hotel borgo is just paradise in the middle of it all.

i'm a sucker for charming hotels with equally charming staff and location, so right from the very start we were hooked.

we got the van gogh room.so naturally, the decors were these:

view from our room

we had a sumptuous breakfast the next day in the hotel.the breads and dessert were obviously homemade and superb.

we took a walk and just admired the beautiful location of this remarkable boutique hotel.

it was built in the 17th century and it used to be a farmhouse!

these books would have come handy during this trip.oh well...
