things i'm grateful for: road trip! (toscana)

i cannot believe that it was our last day in tuscany!

after a late breakfast and a comical farewell with alessandro (we even met the equally charming owner of the hotel!), we decided to drive around a bit and absorb whatever beauty we can possibly intake.

our charming b&b hotel from the other side of the road.

we passed by a lot of sunflower fields during our road trips from the previous days, but we never got the chance to actually stop, and, er, smell the flowers.

there was a nearby vast field of sunflowers from the hotel so we just had to stop.

it was beautiful...and oh so yellow.

there were really humongous ones!

goodbye, tuscany.you're so beautiful.we want to come back someday and hope you will greet us with open arms again.

grazie.

**

we took the motorway on the way back to munich so there was not much to see.

but

we stopped by another beautiful place in italy to see l and m. l is baby's godmother so we just had to see her.

she was staying in lago di garda where her family has a holiday house.

and it was really breathtaking.

lago di garda is the biggest lake in italy.

we lingered for a bit and had a delightful pasta lunch.

**

we passed the austrian border and reached this quaint german village.we stopped for awhile and walked around.

can you just imagine this place during christmas??

**

back to bavaria...and a bit of east germany...next!
