on a guitar: "somewhere over the rainbow" (eva cassidy)

i discovered eva cassidy through an officemate, e, around six years ago.i did not know who she was at all.since my officemate kept on raving about her, and literally pushing us to listen to her songs, we had no choice but to cave in.boy, were we amazed with her songs or what.e wanted to collect her albums, but it seemed like the big music shops did not carry her.so he pulled us with him, scouting the makati cinema square and greenhills areas.we eventually found a shop at greenbelt 1 that had about 3 albums of her.e was close to tears.

everyday e would tell us a trivia or two about her.he was really bordering on the obsession side.he was talking about creating an eva cassidy fans club in the philippines.haha.i don't think he got around to doing it, though.last i heard he is already based in the u.s.i'm sure he is still scouting around for eva cassidy's unreleased tracks.

lyrics:

Somewhere over the rainbow- way
up high
in the land
that I heard of once
Once in a lullaby

Somewhere over the rainbow- skies
are blue
and the dreams
that you dare to dream
really do come true

Someday I'll wish upon a star
and wake up
where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
away above the chimney tops
that's where you'll find me

(Instrumental)

Someday I'll wish upon a star
and wake up
where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
away above the chimney tops
that's where you'll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow
skies are blue
and the dreams...that you dare to dream
really do come true
If happy little bluebirds fly
above the rainbow, why
Oh, why can't I?
