things i'm grateful for: road trip! (denmark)

our next stop on the next day was a romantic summer residence park called liselund.it was buit in the 18th century by a french nobleman for his wife.

there were houses like this manor

the new manor which was converted into a hotel

and a half-timbered norwegian house

lovely pond

on the way to the devil's ravine, so-called because of its treacherous steps

afterwards, we went to stege, a charming market village.

we had pizza

and a nice danish sunset!

**

breakfast the next day was at tohøjgaard

overlooking honeywheat fields and the baltic sea!

we trekked to møns klint or the cliffs of møn.

these are magnificent chalk cliffs!

the view was breathtaking, and saying goodbye to this beautiful island was heart-breaking.it was an amazing experience, indeed.thank you, denmark for opening up your arms to us.

we went back to germany and stayed overnight in hamburg where we passed by the notorius reeperbahn, europe's largest red light district! sorry, guys.no photos here.the area was, uh, very interesting.

we had dinner in a restaurant by the river elbe where we had the most sumptous fish dinner ever!

side story: the beatles stayed in hamburg for 2 years, and this was where they honed their performance skills.

we walked around its popular harbour, and i noticed that every other person in the area seemed to be clad in designer clothes and driving a mercedes.mr t confirmed that hamburg is one of the richest cities not just in germany, but in the whole of europe! still, i could not help giggling while looking at the locals and thinking that they are called "hamburgers." my husband thought i was silly.lol.

well, that was a delightful road trip.thank you, universe, for the lovely weather and serendipitous finds. we thoroughly enjoyed it, and i am hoping that we will enjoy our next road trip even more, now that we have baby in tow!
