things i'm grateful for: road trip! (dusseldorf and gelsenkirchen)

we did not get to spend a lot of time in dusseldorf.we just went there for dinner and walked around altstadt or old town.this is called the "longest bar in the world" because of its abundance of bars and nightclubs.i remember circling the area for a long time, just looking for a restaurant that appeals to us.so amongst all the cuisine readily available there, i suddenly craved for thai food.haha.poor mr t could not really say no.so there we were, the only two people in a thai restaurant in dusseldorf, eating noodles and rice.

we did get to see a bit of its harbour at night

where there was a firetruck-turned-bar

i bet you can just imagine how tired we were.

but i was too excited to sleep, as i knew that the next day, will be a very special one!

we went to gelsenkirchen to watch...u2 live in concert!

i won't bore you with the details as i've already blogged about it here

one dream at a time!

it was held at veltins arena, popular due to its modern design.it has a retractable roof which served its purpose during the concert.

amazing!

anyway, this city is also special for mr t as it is the birthplace of his favorite german football player, mezut ozil.

the following day, we got ready for a trip across the side of the ocean...we were off to...

denmark!
