things i'm grateful for: road trip! (frankfurt)

zeil is a main shopping street in frankfurt, complete with designer and high-street shops.

we stopped by an ice cream parlour for a well-deserved treat of yoghurt and ice cream.

opposite the old town is sachsenhausen, wherein you can find schweizer straße, a boulevard full of bars and cidar houses.very interesting.

mr t has lived in frankfurt for a few months, and he knew some secret spots in the area.he took us to see this funny statue in sachsenhausen called frau rauscher brunnen.she spits in intervals to unsuspecting pedestrians.it was so hysterical.baby just loved it! she kept on jumping in front of the grumpy lady, waiting for her next spit.yes, she was a bit wet after that.

i love this photo showing frankfurt's combination of modernization and history.

this iron bridge is about a hundred years old.we had a pleasant stroll along the banks of the river main.

views from the bridge

some more old town images and panoramic views before we bid adieu to the most international city in germany, where "almost one in three people do not hold german passports." (from frankfurt's official website)

danke, frankfurt.it was a short trip, but it was indeed very educational.

a lovely baroque city called wuerzburg...next!
