things i'm grateful for: road trip! (frankfurt)

experience.

mr t and i are both suckers for travel experiences.we may not have the latest gadget or the most luxurious fashion item, but we have countless experiences that are simply priceless.

i cannot speak on behalf of my husband, but i am sure he has thousands of stories to tell.as for me, i thrive in experiencing little things.

like getting lost on khao san road in bangkok.

like getting shouted at by a chinese taxi driver in beijing.

like walking in hand with mr t in notting hill.

like licking my first ever (overpriced) gelato in a tiny shop just near the vatican.

like swimming with turtles in palawan.

like watching gorillas in their natural habitat in uganda.

like cracking my first ever (overpriced) creme brulee in montmarte.

you get my drift.

and going on road trips is just one of these experiences that you simply have to do. i cannot tell you exactly why, but it is just a must.

we decided to embark on an ambitious munich-austria-switzerland-tuscany little summer road trip.just because.

but first we had to fly to germany.we flew from abu dhabi to frankfurt and stayed overnight in this business centre.

so with luggages in tow and with baby properly strapped in her pram, we trekked to the ibis hotel.

the location is great.it overlooks the river and is about a 10-minute walk to the train station.

we took a tram to go around the city. this is hauptbahnof, the train station.

central frankfurt - old and new together

our first day in germany - and we had sushi.

old part of the city called roemerberg square.it was the city's major square during the middle ages.

it is home to the romer which is the city hall complex.i love the gothic buildings!

we walked further and came across this magnificent church called the frankfurt cathedral.

it is dedicated to st bartholomew and was the site of coronations of german kings and holy roman emperors in the middle ages.

i was already drowning in history, and it was just our first day.

that's why i am enamored with europe so much.it is just so rich with history and culture!

more frankfurt attractions...up next!
