christmas and the germans part 1

no offense to the christians, myself included, but i have a feeling that the germans invented christmas. well, how to properly celebrate it, anyway.

there's no tackiness, no plastic trees, just real, fuzzy, christmas-feeling.

when mr t told me that they actually had real christmas trees with real candles lit up every christmas, i almost swooned from the charm it painted.

three years ago, i was able to indulge in one of the greatest german inventions ever (no, it's not porsche) - the christmas markets.

as soon as we set foot in munich, we headed to tollwood.

where the first thing in the agenda was gluhwein and sausages!

gluhwein is red wine mixed with spices and served warm.

then it was time to check out some quirky shops.

we went to nymphenburg palace at dusk.

it's simply beautiful.

more bavarian beauty and christmas goodness coming up...
