a lucky magnetic charm from ireland! baahhh

the uae celebrates its national every december 2. as it fell on a friday which is the official weekend in the uae, the government granted december 1 as a holiday.
baby, nanny and i participated in the neighborhood activities. there were free face paintings, balloons, cotton candies and caricatures.
the mood was very festive. we headed to a nearby burgerfuel for some chips and milkshakes.
there was a bouncy castle,
free emirati food,
a cultural dance,
free henna painting
we then had ice cream to top this celebration off.
we did the same thing the next day.hee.this time, it was with mr t (who was back from dublin), oma and opa.
there was a parade of around 60 ferrari cars.baby was amazed with the bright reds and yellows parading right before her eyes.she waved the uae flag so excitedly.

oma and opa treated us out to dinner on their last weekend here. we had indian food at bombay by the bay. it was delightful! we had mango lassi (but of course!) and different curry versions. we sat outside watching the national day celebrations while the sea breeze fanned us.
