day 7
i actually had a heavy feeling in my heart as it was our last day in japan.
we decided to go to asakusa, one of japan's oldest districts.what better way to end the trip than to go to where the spirit of old edo lives?
we went to the wrong station in narita and took a slow train! arg.we got off at ueno station
we wandered aimlessly and reached asakusa!
overlooking sumida river and ashahi brewery buildings designed by philippe stark
tokyo sky tree tower from afar (still under construction)
we went to kaminarimon, one of the gates to the sensoji (or kannon) temple
nakamise-dori street with shops selling the cutest items!
i liked these buddhist images...
and yet more prettiness...
kannon temple
wafting the smoke for good health
the forecourt of the temple
finally, it was time to go home and leave this beautiful city which surprised and delighted us.
tokyo, you are beautiful and fantastic.sayonara.arigato gozaimusu.see you in a few years time...hopefully...

if you are japan you just have to get a few kawaii (cute) and pop culture items, just because...
see a few of our loot...

the best ceramic knife in the world (in pink) - kyocera knife.mr t "discovered" this, and he was very keen on getting one for himself when we get back to dubai.only mr t is allowed to touch it in the house! haha.
