things i'm grateful for: tokyo lovin'

day 5

by this time i was on the verge of getting a runny nose and a splitting headache.but when i saw this view from our hotel lobby, i knew we just had to go there.

this is aoyama cemetery

so pretty

may tennis court pa jan, ha...

professor ueno, the master of hachiko the dog, is buried here.

another random pretty tree

we continued walking and reached tokyo midtown, another cool urban district

and roponggi

we went to this park in the middle of tokyo.we were just so impressed on how the japanese can build all the tranquil places right smack in the middle of its neon lights and fast-paced lifestyle.

would you want to live in a building like this? mapapa-diet ka! lol.

we walked further and reached the hama rikyu garden. there were lots of, er, ducks and ponds.the garden was actually a private game reserve of the tokugawa shoguns.

and then the unthinkable happened, my camera's battery conked out! ay sus.i was basically pissed off from from here onwards.we had to make do of mr t's trusty phone camera.am i glad they turned out nice din!

after feeding baby in this lush environment, we then took a river boat for a cruise upriver to odaiba, a reclaimed land where the japanese built a huge array of facilities.

ang ganda ng tokyo skyline!

view from the man-made beach at seaside park, overlooking the rainbow bridge

the decks shopping area which is like a giant passenger liner

the futuristic fuji tv headquarters

view from decks

honestly i was not very keen on odaiba.it felt very artificial and robotic.plus i was cranky as i was so hungry and all the restaurants that we went to were either closed or full.what the ****. so we went to good, ol' reliable mcdonalds where i chowed down a burger even before mr t could blink.haha.

there was even a "statue of liberty" whick irked me more.mr t tried to cheer me up while we were in starbucks.there was a christmas song playing, baby was soundly sleeping, we were having warm coffee and the view was actually magnificent.i'm feeling so guilty now!

and hey, what's up with starbucks? how come they get all these nice locations, ha?

i enjoyed more our ride home from odaiba to aoyama as it crossed Rainbow Bridge with more fascinating views.great!
