our last day in jordan :-(
after breakfast, we drove going to amman, the capital of jordan, to return the rental car.goodbye, nice hotel.goodbye, dead sea.
we thought it would be the perfect time to visit the baptism site as it was on the way.
not really.
we realized that we had to spend at least 2-3 hours to go to the actual site itself.we could not afford to stay long as we had to return the car.if there was a lowpoint in this trip, this could be it.i mean, this was supposed to be the place where john the baptist baptized jesus.hello! well, beggars can't be choosers.i should be happy enough to be given the chance to be in jordan.
i just had to settle myself with this piece of rock then.
we went to the ritz carlton amman to check-in, er, to return the car.haha.wishing!turned out we could extend our use of the car for a few hours.
grrr...
we just went around downtown amman which surprisingly reminded me of, er, quiapo.
we then drove going to the citadel, a hill with ruins of the Temple of Hercules, an Ummayyad Palace, and a Byzantine Church. At the foot of the Citadel lies the 6,000 seat Roman Theatre.
views from the citadel, overlooking amman.
citadel
we went back to downtown amman to stroll and look around the marketplace.
some of the things they were selling:
goodbye jordan.you are beautiful.thank you for welcoming us.
