weekend round-up

we set up our christmas tree last night. hopefully, the trimmings and the overall look of the tree will improve in the years to come, but for now, this is our christmas tree.and we are happy to see it all glittering and shimmering.baby even had a comment on it, "it's nice!"

we took baby to the dentist for the first time today.the dentist had the same name as baby's so i guess that was a good sign.it was just for a general check-up and it went well.of course baby cried when the dentist checked her teeth, but thank god everything was good.no cavities, no decay.well, she is just a toddler anyway.but it's amazing how many kids in this part of the world have really decayed teeth.that's why we were concerned.since she was a good girl, the dentist gave her an orange teddy bear, which we are calling "orange" (duh) from now on.

we then went to safa park, our new favorite park

you can see burj khalifa from afar!

and baby decided to grab my camera and shoot photos from her perspective.not bad, eh?

eto, winner 'to.so this is how she sees me! mini-skirt na kung mini-skirt.lol.

we went to the rainforest cafe in dubai mall as a treat to baby who properly  behaved during her first dental appointment. it was our first time to go there and we were pleasantly surprised with the decor.there were simulated thunderstorms and lightnings and there were gorillas, elephants, tigers (fake, of course!) baby would not dare go near to the animals, but she was happy just watching them.you can even see the back view of the humungous dubai mall aquarium (that's the blue thing in the photo).

mr t and i made a pact (pact daw, o!) to try out all the restaurants in our neighborhood.we're suckers for stuff like this, so please indulge us.

we went to benihana in amwaj rotana.the restaurant was one of the runners-up in time out dubai's best family restaurant award. we had an eat-all-you-can japanese dinner.it was divine! the sake was marvelous as well.

we joked about the really cheap sake that we bought in tokyo a year ago.because we were in a tight budget in tokyo, we decided to buy the cheapest sake we found in a supermarket.it was so awful we did not even get to try two sips! haha.

and because i'm filipino, and filipinos are suckers for christmas, let me post one of my favorite christmas songs ever! warning: i will post more of these in the days to come!
