weekend(s) roundup

life happens.so sorry for the late posts.

we still love our cafe o or paul's friday breakfast brunches .here's our view from cafe o:

mr t has been religious in preparing delicious dinners for us, like:

fish with bacon and veggies

lasagna

the weather has been perfect, and sometimes when we actually remember that we have a terrace with a remarkable view, we go out outside and have breakfast there and pretend we own one of the yatchs by the marina.harharhar.

we have been going to a lot of far-flung malls lately, like the outlet mall (thank god for outlet shopping!) and the ceity centre in midrif. and usually we end up dining in italian restaurants, like carluccious, which is so kid-friendly. they have crayons and coloring materials to make the kids occupied.

and our neighborhood has become a tourist attraction! as much as we just grin and bear it, sometimes the loud music that some companies play downstairs (at night!) are just getting on our nerves.anyway, there were carnivals, music festivals like the jazz festival and world music festival right on our doorstep!

baby and i also had a li'l excursion at the beach where i let her run around and fall down on the sand

thirsty and warm, we headed off to the local frozen yoghurt shop and that was when i discovered she loved this!

we went to our now-favorite park, the newly-opened al barsha park

and at midrif park which was just a bit crowded for us

we also met up with mr t's ex-work colleagues who have now become friends over at rivington grill at souk al bahar which overlooks the tallest building the world, the burj khalifa, and the most fascinating fountain - the dubai fountain.there was an ongoing light show on which the fountain was "dancing" to the tune of michael j's "thriller!" fascinating! haha.

very good (high-end) brit staples!

and that was where i discovered one of the brit's greatest inventions - sticky toffee pudding! heaven, i tell you!

and a week later, one of them went back to abu dhabi for a conference and we met up again at brahaus in beach rotana.

so there.no, these did not at all happen in one weekend. :-)

and no we are not ambivalent to what is happening in the world.we are aware.we care.we gratefully live day-by-day.and we pray.
